Our Charity Efforts

In 2019, we’re throwing our fundraising support behind mental health charity Mind – and we’d appreciate your support in our efforts!

1 in 4 people will experience a mental health problem – it’s remarkably common. And yet, a suffocating stigma remains around seeking help.

At Identity Experts, supporting our team’s mental health is crucial, whether in the workplace or in their personal lives. With mental health so close to the hearts of many of our team, it made sense to support Mind as our charity of the year.

Below are the initiatives we’re implementing this year, as well as details on fundraising.

Why Mind?

Mind are on a mission to support individuals facing mental health difficulties, and to remove the stigma around seeking support and speaking out. In 2018 alone, Mind’s three hotlines answered almost 100,000 calls, and crucial information was accessed 12 million times – great progress towards that cause!

On 19th May, our very own Amy Stokes-Waters ran the Great Manchester Run 10k, completing the course in 1 hour 13 minutes. On why supporting Mind is so important, Amy said “Mental health should be given the same priority as physical health. We need to remove the stigma of mental health conditions and start taking them seriously.”

In July, our CEO David Murrell cycled 60 miles for charity. The Manchester to Blackpool ride is a hugely popular event with cyclists of all abilities, starting in Manchester’s Media City, winding its way through the scenic country lanes of Lancashire, and ending on Blackpool’s South Promenade.
